Treasures of Ancient Alkebu-lan
Calvin relishes creating art work that calls forth his ancestral lineage and other cultures, especially Ancient African, like the Benin, Ife, Nok, Kimit or Songhay Cultures. He feels that his work reflect cultures shaped by both Africa and the New World. Thus, his art must be understood in the context of three creative streams.....Africa, the New World and the artist's own creative vision. The assortment of wood bowls shown here embodies this concept.
